Brent & I headed to New York City for our first married Christmas this year! We both already had the time off because of the holidays, so we just figured, why not?! Christmas in New York always sounds so romantic anyways. :)
A direct flight from Charlottesville to LaGuardia made it a breeze to travel there! We decided to stay in the Kimpton Eventi right in midtown. So we were literally in the perfect location for everything we wanted to see! We did a LOT of walking, and other than it being pretty windy, we were really lucky with the weather!
Check out some of my favorites below from our trip :)
We got into town early evening on the 23rd. So after dinner we headed to the tree at Rockefeller Center and Times Square, AND the ice skating rink at Bryant Park with its own Christmas Tree!
Our view from our hotel room looked RIGHT at the Empire State Building! So cool!
Christmas Eve was our day to explore just about everywhere. First up, the Flatiron Building, the Oculus, and then the 9/11 Memorial. The last time I was in NYC they had not finished building the memorial yet.
We made a pit-stop at the New York Stock Exchange before taking a ferry to Brooklyn, and walking back across the Brooklyn Bridge.
Of course we had to go to Central Park!
... and Tiffany's!
I just loved this view from our walk to where we got coffee each morning - Stumptown Coffee.
Christmas Day we decided to head up to the Top of the Rock and were lucky to get up without a major wait at all! The view would have been worth it either way!
We also somehow managed to get inside St. Patricks Cathedral in the middle of Christmas Eve mass! There was a huge line to enter when we left, so I am not sure at all how we snuck in without any trouble!! But look at that architecture and stained glass!
It was a Merry Christmas indeed! :) And maybe a new tradition has been born??
